- Why do people eat a lot in Ramadan?! Isn’t the whole concept of fasting is feeling for those who can’t afford food throughout the year and trying to understand how they suffer? It’s funny how people tend to actually GAIN WEIGHT during Ramadan. It contradicts the basic goal of this holy month. I’m always amazed by the sight of shopping carts in the super markets in the weeks prior to Ramadan. It makes you think people are stocking up for a war that will last 3 years at least! Do you really have to have Konafa everyday? Can’t you spare Caramel and Jello everyday? Should you have a thousand kinds of juices in the fridge for this one month?

- I don’t know why many don’t like to work in Ramadan. “We’re tired and fasting” is a common response. I don’t mind working in Ramadan. As a matter of fact, I wouldn’t mind working full hours like regular days in Ramadan. The best thing about Ramadan’s working hours is that I don’t have to wake up early! 10 is a great time to begin lol I wish we started on 10 in normal days too! I’m willing to stay at the hospital until 6 istead of 4 if I can come 10 instead of 8 in the morning!

- Taraweeh Prayer is probably one of the best aspects of Ramadan, especially if the mosque is clean and spacious and the Imam has a nice voice. I wonder though why do we attend mosques to pray Taraweeh which is a sunna, not obligatory, and we don’t attend them for everyday prayers which are more important. I’m guilty of that myself.

- Is it me or is time not enough in Ramadan? I come back home usually around 4:30. I’d sleep and wake up after 2 hours for Fatoor. Afterwards, time is wasted online until Esha prayer and taraweeh. Then I’d come home to try to study and end up sleeping yet again only to wake up 2 or 3am to have sahoor and stay up studying or reading novels until 8 where I head for college. Yes I know I said we start on 10 but we have to get to the hospital early to prepare our cases and patients so we can present them to the doctors. The idea is that I don’t HAVE TO be there at 8, just whenever I feel like it.

- As you see, I’m not watching TV in Ramadan, Any suggestions regarding good shows?! I just watch MBC4 sitcoms whenever I can but that’s it. King Farooq seems interesting because of the history aspect but I’m not sure. I’m not into drama serieses.

- Have a good Ramadan everyone and inshallah rabbana ye3′frlna kolna zonobna fy da alshahr :)
