Closer Than My Veins
I try to keep my distance
But I don’t see the difference
You’re closer than my veins are At night I say a little prayer
To wake up and not find you there
Still residing inside of my heart I try to rip you off my skin
But you’re attached deeply within
Between memories and old scars I ruin this perfect picture
Of you and me together
I taint it with black tears and tar How I hate photographs
The happiness we used to have
Seems unrealistic and exceedingly far Let it all burn to the ground
We are all destined to fall down
I just pray next time I don’t fall this hard
But I don’t see the difference
You’re closer than my veins are At night I say a little prayer
To wake up and not find you there
Still residing inside of my heart I try to rip you off my skin
But you’re attached deeply within
Between memories and old scars I ruin this perfect picture
Of you and me together
I taint it with black tears and tar How I hate photographs
The happiness we used to have
Seems unrealistic and exceedingly far Let it all burn to the ground
We are all destined to fall down
I just pray next time I don’t fall this hard
World Diabetes Day + Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign + GCC Medical Education Convention
- The breast cancer awareness campaign concluded successfully. It lasted for two weeks and I’m glad that I took part in such a project. I was in Serafi Mega Mall and Fageeh Hospital. People really appreciated the things we were doing. Hopefully this won’t be the last project for Jeddah Young Doctors Group.
- I was asked to be an organizer at the 6th Annual GCC Medical Education Convention on The Medical Students Day. The pre-registered list reached 1000 students and many registered on-site. It was a really tough day to organize because we didn’t expect such huge numbers to register. Chaos almost happened but luckily we managed to avoid that and the day turned out good in the end.
- Yesterday we had the Kids Diabetes Day at the King Fahd Research Center at KAAU. This was one hell of a busy day especially for me because I was in charge. I did not have a chance to sit and relax for more than 5 minutes! We faced some problems at the beginning but somehow we worked them out quickly al7amdillah. As crazy the day was, it was really fun and I enjoyed my time. However, I’d think really hard before taking on such a big task like this one again! The only negative thing is that my knee is hurting me again and I might need to use a crutch for the few next days but inshallah it’ll be alright soon. The Adults Diabetes Day is going to take place next week but I’m taking a back seat because my Pediatrics final is in less than 10 days and I have to study so I’ll be there just to supervise and someone else will be in charge.
Anything else?! mm.. I guess that’s it for now! c ya in 2 weeks.

Busy as hell!
Hmm… what have I been up to lately?
- Well, first thing is I’m done with my surgery rotation. God I’m gonna miss the surgical wards! I’m gonna miss everything about surgery but oh well, what can you do! My next surgery rotation is next year lol
As for the End of Posting surgery exan, al7amdellah I did well in the written but the clinical wasn’t easy especially the Prof who examined me was extra tough. I did alright but could’ve been better. Al7amdillah 3la kol 7al
- Jeddah Young Doctors group is organizing a Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign taking place here in Jeddah. The female volunteers have been to different schools and colleges both governmental and private explaining to them about this disease and the best ways to prevent it. Tuesday till Friday from 7-10 each night there will be stands in each of the following malls: Serafi mall, Jeddah mall, Aziz mall, Andalus mall and Sultan mall in which we will be distributing gifts and flyers and trying to increase the people’s knowledge about breast cancer.
Personally I’ll be in Baksh Hospital next week from 7-10 at night working in the clinic helping with the screening process for breast cancer for the women who want to.
- United Hands Team with the help of Diabetics’ Friends Society are organzing the International days for Diabetes. The kids day will be on the 15th of Nov while the adults on the 22nd inshallah. Both will take place at the King Fahd Research Center at KAAU so if you know anyone diabetic then advice them to attend those days please.
I’ll be the person in charge of the male volunteers those days inshallah.
I’m doing pediatrics now and loving it but the studying is much harder than surgery! aaaaah! Try to attend any of the functions I’ve mentioned please and wish me luck as I always say
