They’re going to be supported by an array of talented  local comedians including myself inshallah! You have to watch out for the locals because we simply ROCK!

Thursday April 2nd is the night. Venue will be announced later. Get your tickets everyone.

King Abdullah bin Abdul-Aziz Al-Saud

I know that I’m a humble man and that my personal admiration doesn’t really add much to the greatness of our leader, HRH The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah (Abo Met3eb, Father of Met’eb, as most Saudi citizens so endearingly call him). I just wanted to declare the fact that I’m truly impressed by him and that may Allah gives him the long healthy life he needs to keep on doing his remarkable work in this country.

If you want to know more about King Abdullah then this is his Wikipedia page. It’s very deficient in info especially regarding his achievements and philanthropic work but it’ll do. This is another website about him that I truly liked: http://www.mykingabdullah.com. This one’s in Arabic only though.

What propelled me to write this post is that I have stumbled on THIS GROUP in facebook created by friends of mine to promote a campaign that aims to gather enough support for King Abdullah to be awarded the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize.

I believe that he deserves it and you should all VOTE for him: http://www.votefornobelprize.com/. I don’t know much about the legitimacy of the site but you have nothing to lose!

We all raise our hands and pray that God guides you to what’s best for you, us and this nation both in life and the afterlife.

BUSY BUSY BUSY!

- I just can’t help neglecting this blog! I have so much to do that I can’t put this place in my top priorities. I feel as if I have a lot to write about but no time or proper inspiration to extract the thoguhts from my head and translate them into words!

- Being engaged is a very nice feeling! It’s an entirely new experience when you’re always treated as a “couple” as a part of a unit. “How are YOU doing” no longer refers to you alone, instead it includes your significant other. However, it does imply social obligations that you have to fulfill on the expense of other things! Inshallah we always stay happy :)

- The Comedy Show was featured in an article in Arab News newspaper last week. They included a picture of us on stage next to Ahmed Ahmed. Destination Jeddah magazine also ran a story about the show but I didn’t have the pleasure to see that article yet. Fainak website has many photos of the event to those who want to see.

- Last weekend, The 3rd Medical Students’ Volunteer Day took place and I had the honor of presenting our future project, the Career Counseling Center to the audience and the faculty members and inshallah it’s gonna be realized soon. I have put on hold all of my multiple volunteer activities in order to concentrate on this project. Those who are interested should attend The 2nd Medical Students’ Research Day on 16th of April. Hopefully our research regarding The Knowledge of Medical Students About Postgraduate Career Choices: Evaluating the Need for a Career Counseling Center, will be presented by me to further support our idea. Be there medical geeks :P

- I’m doing Obstetrics & Gynecology now and I really don’t like it! I’m tired from our Internal Medicine and Pediatrics rotations that were hectic and I feel as if I ran out of energy! The exam is 3 weeks away and I should start studying  seriously but as you see from everything above, where am I going to find the time?

Days should be more than 24 hours a day :P

I’m Engaged!

This is a personal update to those interested in my love life :P Last weekend I proposed to the most wonderful and beautiful girl on earth and now I have a ring around my finger! Life’s been CRAZY. 3ogbalakom kolkom wo ad3olna rabna yetamem 3la khair.

If you’re reading this, I just wanted you to know that I love you.

Medical Students’ Volunteer Day is an annual event held at KAU to showcase various successful volunteer organizations and activities in our medical community in addition to addressing multiple issues concerning volunteerism and how to improve the productivity of volunteer work.

This year also witnesses the introduction of Dr. Adnan Amin Awards for Realization of Projects. New and aspiring ideas of volunteer projects will be presented to compete against each other for the awards that are constituted of financial grants and official support from the dean of the faculty of medicine to make these projects reality. My own project “Career Counseling Center” will be featured and hopefully win the 1st place award.

The event will take place Thursday, March 5 in KAU Main Conferences and Ceremonies Hall starting 9 am till 4 pm. don’t forget to be there!
