Stains

I’m willing to discard all the others
Wash them away like stains
I’ll pledge my loyalty for you forever
Only you shall always remain
 
They’re simply minor distractions
Poor substitutes for you, my occupier
They hardly ever fill a fraction
Of this heart which is filled with desire
 
Just looking into your deep eyes
Sends a shiver right through my spine
A sensation more marvelous than I
Have ever experienced my whole life
 
There can never be a comparison
Between you and anyone else
Don’t you see it’s unfair to any of them?
You can only compete with yourself
 
No matter how beautiful they might be
They’re not half as beautiful as you are
They never had a part of me
But you have complete ownership of my heart

Innocent Substance

Would you leave my core, please?
You’ve taken residence inside of me for too long
And I apologize for saying that I’m tired
But my desire for you has simply gotten too strong
 
I can’t contain it any more than I have
Being this close to you is suicidal in my case
I need to escape from my dreams of you
Take away the images of your beautiful face
 
You’re an addiction that runs through my veins
I couldn’t quit you no matter how hard I tried
You’re an innocent substance, my dear
So unaware of my dependence on you to survive
 
I wish to touch the inner part of your soul
To be let in because I’m still at the surface
But I guess I don’t have the key to unlock you
You don’t seem to intend to let down your defenses
 
I feel that you know you own me completely
You just don’t like to acknowledge you have such power
Convince yourself that you don’t mean anything to me
When everything is so clear in this fateful hour
 
Here you go; this is my heart as a gift
I know it’s not much but it beats your name
I don’t have use for it, at least not any time soon
Keep it with you until the day we meet again

Untruthfulness

I must say I love the fake sad look in your eyes
You almost had me fooled there for a minute
I almost believed it wasn’t just another lie
But I recognized the untruthfulness that lies within it
 
I must say I love the way you lower your voice
When you say that you never meant to hurt me
When you say you’re sorry but it’s your choice
I guess it’s your damn right to hurt whomever you please
 
Who’s to say that it’s not ok to break my heart?
That you can’t say I love you and not mean it?
Who’s to say that you can’t tear me apart?
That you can’t make love and not even feel it?
 
You live by your own rules and regulations
Hurt. Fake. Take. Make a promise and break it
Your cold heart will resolve the hardest situation
When you’re tired of an old love just trade it
 
I just want to say that you can’t hurt me anymore
I’ve finally found peace and put myself back together
Now I can easily see what I couldn’t see before
I simply deserve someone better
